Both at Architecture in Formation and previous work experience, Emily has participated in a range of building projects, including offices, community centers, multi-family housing, single-family residences, and higher education buildings.

Emily received a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and a Master of Science degree in Advanced Architecture Design from Columbia University, where she has also taught advanced studio courses and workshops for Master’s students at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Currently, Emily teaches part-time as an Adjunct Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology instructing undergraduate architecture studios.

Emily educates students and develops projects with a keen focus on sustainability, passive design techniques, environmental responsibility, climate change, and equitable design.  In 2020, Emily received the Buell Center Paris Prize Award for a project that successfully complies with, interprets, and critically extends the terms and spirit of the 2015 Paris Agreement.  In 2019, Emily attended courses at the New School Parsons School of Design for a workshop in the Healthy Materials Lab that focused on sustainably sourced and environmentally responsible materials. As an advocate, Emily actively participates in sustainable practice groups, women in architecture committees, LGBTQ+ rights organizations, and local volunteer groups.

Outside of architecture, Emily is an avid woodworker, graphic artist, plant enthusiast, softball athlete, amateur cyclist, and pool shark. Emily also has a rescue tabby cat named Henny Penny, who loves basking in the sunlight.
